Christine Ackers-Griffin a good friend did her own bit of well research after discovering she had one in her cellar in France. She located St-Nicoloas Courbefy fountains linked to Saint Eutrope. She found three wells. The legend has it one was a well for love the second one for rheumatism and the third was for sick animals.

On a recent visit to North Wales I visited three beautiful Holy Wells. Its amazing what Google can unearth and an ordinance survey map. My favorite was called St Cadfan. From reading up it says St Cadfan came to Wales from Brittany in the early sixth century. This well in Llangadfan's was fun to locate as the road has been built over it and its accessed through a hole in the hedge. The original text about the well was so faded and made from Dymo tape that it was impossible to read about it. You had to climb into the well in order to feel the water which was so clear.
I have since made inquiries to see if its not possible to re-do the sign to the well so that visitors can hear its history.
My next visit was to a town called Oswestry where I visited St Oswalds Well. The story says that St Oswald was killed by the Mercians in battle in 642AD. The story can be seen on the information stone as you approach the well. I personally found this well in need of some life. It felt dead to me.
